RASUWA: A massive wildfire which has been raging since Wednesday at Pangpakha of Thuman area in northern part of Rasuwa is yet to come under control.

Thousands of hectares of forest in wards 2, 3 and 9 of Thumman VDC have been destroyed in the wildfire, locals have said.

The topography of the area with a high number of steep cliffs and customary high winds have hindered attempts to take the fire under control, but it is gradually being contained, officials said.

A person has been arrested during a search for those involved in sparking the fire and necessary legal process has been initiated, said District Police Office Chief, Awadesh Bista.
