Damak, December 8:

The Upper Kirant Limbuwan National Forum (UKLNF) has withdrawn its programme of Mechi zone bandh following the release of its cadres today.

Transport in all four districts of the Mechi zone — Jhapa, Ilam, Teplejung and Panchthar — resumed at 11 am today, police said. All the seven cadres of UKLNF were released today, Jhapa CDO Narendra Dahal said.

UKLNF had called a Mechi bandh from yesterday demanding the release of Sagar Lama, who was held in connection with a donation drive in Jhapa’s Biringkhola.
