Mechi customs office loses huge revenue

JHAPA: Mechi Customs Office, Kakadvitta has faced loss of Rs 18 crore within 11 days due to the ongoing strike and blockade at the border. Bhim Prasad Adhikari chief of Mechi Customs Office said the office has managed to collect revenue on only Rs 10.5 million on a daily basis. “Goods have not been supplied easily from India and that has directly affected revenue collection,” he added. He said the economy of the country has been affected most just before Dashain, Tihar and Chhat festivals. Adhikari further informed that the office aims to collect more revenue before Dashain.
