Microbus accident in Dhading kills minor, injures 12

DHADING: A minor died and 12 others were injured when a microbus met with an accident at Dharke in Naubise VDC of Dhading district along the Prithvi Highway on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as seven-year-old Sujan Thapa of Gorkha, informed police. Thapa died while undergoing treatment at a hospital, police said.

Khanikhola Traffic Police Office has assumed that the accident occurred as the microbus (Ba 2 Kha 3714) was travelling at a high speed. The microbus, which was on its way to Gorkha from Kathmandu, had tried to overtake a truck (Na 5 Kha 2920) and collided with the latter.

Among the injured, Sabin Thapa, Kalpana Gautam and Mun Prasad Devkota are critical and are receiving treatment at the Lalitpur-based Ganesh Man Mahalaxmi Hospital.

Other six injured are being treated at the Shiva Darshan Hospital in Dharke while others are being treated at various hospitals of Kathmandu.
