Minister Rayamajhi vows to end energy crisis
Kathmandu, October 18
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy Top Bahadur Rayamajhi after assuming office today said that he would do everything possible to end the current energy crisis.
Minister Rayamajhi said that he would make best possible efforts develop hydro power projects as the current energy crisis has been severely affecting the industrial sector. He also vowed to co-operate with the private sector to reduce the country’s energy dependence on India.
The Deputy Prime Minister also called for support from all to promote investment in the energy sector. Stressing the need for investment-friendly policies, Rayamajhi said that the government should remove procedural hassles to encourage the private sector to invest in hydro power. He said only reservoir-based projects will help the country get rid of the current energy crisis. Rayamajhi also directed officials to change their working style.
