Kailali, February 9

Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supplies Damodar Bhandari has said the government was moving ahead with determination to transform national challenges into opportunities.

He said the government was seriously working to promote the industrial sector. During a programme organised by Kailali Chamber of Commerce in his hon-our today in Dhangadi, Minister Bhandari said cooperation from the private sector would be sought to revive sick industries. He was of the view that more areas with industrial potential should be explored with special focus on Sudurpaschim Province to witness new achievements in days to come.

Stating that prompt service delivery was the priority of the government, Minister Bhandari assured that the incumbent government would reflect its dedication to good governance in its policies and actions.

He said subordinate bodies under the ministry had already been directed to explore and assess specific potentialities in specific areas.

"Darchula is known for its copper and lead mines, Baitadi for iron ore and other districts may have many more potentialities. We have prioritised these," he shared.

According to Minister Bhandari, a dry port based in Dodhara Chandani of Kanchanpur would be brought into operation soon.
