Minister Yadav vows to control soil erosion
UDAYAPUR: Minister for Irrigation and CPN Maoist Centre leader Umesh Yadav on Tuesday pledged to control soil erosion caused by rivers in the district.
Addressing a programme at the Gaighat-based party office today, the Minister said that the government and his party would take necessary steps at the earliest to control soil erosion after inspecting the villages at risk of the natural disaster.
"We also are aware of possible human losses to the natural disaster," he said.
On the occasion, Yadav also inspected various villages of the district lying at the risk of soil erosion.
He interacted with the victims of soil erosion at areas like Tapeshwori, Triyuga Municipality, Rampur Thoksila, Jogidaha, Hadiya and Sundarpur among others and inquired about their problems and made assurance to control the disaster at the earliest.
Yadav is scheduled to stay in the district for two more days till tomorrow and inspect the villages at the risk of soil erosion and interact with the people victimised by the natural disaster on the matter.
