In the wake of the recent controversial remarks made by Physical Infrastructure and Transportation Minister Renu Kumari Yadav in Gaur, demonstrations both in favour and against her are being held in Saptari these days.
Condemning the minister for 'publicly issuing life threats to their party chairperson, cadres of Janamat Party had burned minister Yadav's effigy in Rajbiraj yesterday, calling for her resignation.
One day after the protest, Yadav's supporters also staged a demonstration accusing Janamat Party Chair CK Raut of plotting against the minister and chanted slogans against him. Saptari is the hometown of both Yadav and Raut.
Today, a rally led by Province Women's Association and Socialist Women's Association Saptari started from local Shiva temple and made rounds of the bazaar chanting slogans against Raut before converging into a corner meet at Janaandolan Chowk.
Speaking at the programme, Provincial Assembly member Abhishek Yadav, Janata Socialist Party's women department Secretary Laxmi Chaudhary, Socialist Women Association district Secretary Rakhi Yadav, Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality Deputy Chief Sarita Yadav and others stressed the need to ban the activities of Janamat Party carried out in the name of agitation.
