KATHMANDU: Minister for Forests and Environment Shakti Bahadur Basnet and Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Barshaman Pun today held a meeting regarding inter-ministerial coordination on different issues.

At a meeting held in the Ministry of Energy, the teams agreed on coordination and cooperation for development, construction works and prosperity in the areas of common concerns, Minister Basnet's press coordinator Dayanidhi Bhatta said.

During the interaction, Minister Basnet pledged to facilitate the Ministry of Energy to carry out environment impact assessment (EIA) of the hydropower projects and ease the process to cut down the trees for transmission line.

Basnet added that the Ministry was preparing to draft laws and policies to make them relevant by ending irrelevant provisions on the development construction works.

On the occasion, Minister Pun stressed the need for coordination among all ministries since development was the common goal of entire nation.
