Ministry to involve young people in peace process
Kathmandu, December 23:
The Ministry of Peace and Reconstruction is to mobilise the youth affiliated to various
political parties and in the community in order to help stabilize peace and democracy and to strengthen the foundation of national unity.
Speaking at an interaction organised to seek ways to involve the youths in the ongoing peace process, Minister for Peace and Reconstruction, Ram Chandra Poudel, said the government had given high priority to the use of the creative strength in the youths. Mobilization of the youth is part of the post-social reconstruction project to be carried out by the ministry.
The project also aims to organise the youth, enhance good will with the people, mobilise them in sports, cultural and service-oriented works and increasing the role of the youth in institutionalizing the democracy. On the occasion, Joint Secretary at the Ministry, Shyam Sundar Sharma pointed out the need of participation of all the political parties and youth associations in the youth mobilization work.
