Ministry to move out of Rana palace

Kathmandu, November 13:

Minister for Education Renu Yadav said today the Ministry of Education would be shifted from Keshar Mahal, which was constructed in Rana regime.

“The Minister for Education would soon be shifted from Kaiser Mahal. The Keshar Library will have enough space after the shifting.”

She said the ministry would soon form a Library Board and come up with relevant rules and regulations to monitor libraries.

The minister was speaking at a programme organised by the Postal Service Department and the Ministry of Education (MoE) to affix the cancellation mark on two tickets — stamps issued to commemorate the centenary of Kaiser Library and the writing of the national anthem.

“The state’s literacy drive would be ineffective unless libraries were set up all over the nation,” she reasoned.

“Textbooks alone cannot make the literacy campaign successful. We need to establish libraries to make the people literate,” the Education Minister added.
