BHOJPUR: A four-year-old child drowned in a pond in Ramprasad Rai Rural Municipality-6 of Bhojpur district, on Monday evening.

The deceased has been identified as Pramish Thapa, son of Prakash Thapa.

According to Police Inspector Pandav Rajbanshi at District Police Office, the child along with his friends had gone to the pond at Baikunthe when he drowned at 6:00 pm yesterday. The pond is constructed with the purpose of providing water for domestic animals.

Meanwhile, preparation is on for sending the body to Bhojpur District Hospital for the postmortem, informed Inspector Rajbanshi.
