Mishaps kill five
Siraha, February 6:
Two persons died and three were critically injured in a road mishap at Siraha Municipality-9 last night.
Bachan Dev Yadav, 29, of Siraha-5 Baderwa died on the spot when a car rammed at a culvert and Dularchan Yadav, 35, of Siraha-1 died on the way to hospital, police said. Car driver Amar Bikram Yadav, 36, and Rabindra Shah, 40, of of Siraha-1 and Devendra Gohibar, 42, of Siraha-5 were critically injured in the mishap. The driver was driving the car in an inebriated state, said SP Mingmar Lama.
Meanwhile, a report from Biratnagar said one Dal Bahadur Nepali died after he was hit by a motorbike in Urlabari-6 of Morang district along the Mahendra highway.
Nepali was seriously injured after he was hit by the bike today. He died at the Malangawa-based primary health centre, police said. The motorcyclist is now in custody of the area police office at Urlabari.
Meanwhile, two trucks turned turtle in separate places of Sunsari last night. One Luliya Mandal died and 12 passengers were injured when a bus heading from Kakadbhitta to Kathmandu hit a shop in Damak-10 of Jhapa district today, area police office Biratnagar said.
A jeep driver Krishna Basnet died after the jeep turned turtle in Arjundhara-6 of Jhapa along the Charpane section of east west highway. Six passengers were injured in the accident.
