Rautahat, September 14:

The mutiliated body of a teenage girl, who had gone missing on Tuesday, was found this morning.

Rita Kumari, 14, daughter of Kamal Shah of Gaur municipality ward 13 in Sirsiya, had gone out to collect fodder on Tuesday morning but never returned.

Villagers, after seeing the body in a field belonging to one Hridaya Singh, informed the police. Police said Kumari had been raped and murdered. The murderers cut off her hands, feet, breasts, hair and plucked out her eyes and mutilated her genitals after she died, the police said.

Rita’s father Kamal recognised the body from the clothes found at the spot, Rautahat SP Yogeshwar Romkhami said, adding that Rita might have been gang raped.
