BHOJPUR: A woman who went missing under mysterious circumstances is suspected to have drowned in Dudhkoshi River in Hasanpur VDC-2, south of Bhojpur district headquarters.

The missing woman has been identified as local Bhoti Maya Rai (47), wife of Laxman Rai.

Rai went out of contact after she went outdoor on Tuesday afternoon, police informed.

A team of security personnel deployed from the Hasanpur-based police post on Wednesday morning found bangles, watch and mobile phone belonging to the missing Rai on the bank of Dudhkoshi River, according to the Biratnagar-based Eastern Regional Police Office.

The search operation is being carried out after the relatives and neighbours of Rai reported about her disappearance, police said.

Meanwhile, the investigation is underway, said police.
