MJF calls indefinite transport strike in Rautahat from Dec 2
Rautahat, November 29:
The Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (MJF) has announced an indefinite transport strike in Rautahat district from December 2 to protest ‘false charges against innocent persons’ over the Gaur carnage.
Saying that police filed cases against 103 innocent persons on the charge of their involvement in Gaur killing, the Forum said the strike will continue until the cases against the innocent persons were withdrawn.
In a press release issued today, the forum said its serious attention has been drawn towards the dramatic filing of murder cases against 103 innocent persons in collusion between the Maoists and police.
It said the cases filed have completely disregarded the probe that was carried out at the national level into the killings.
The release signed by the forum’s district president Ganesh Yadav the filing of cases against the innocent persons is an attempt of the local administration and the Maoists to terrorise the Rautahat residents nine months after the incident.
At least 28 people, most of them Maoist cadres, were killed in a clash between the Maoists and the MJF last year.
