MJF for Madhes state
RAUTAHAT: President of Mahdhesi Janaadhikar Forum Upendra Yadav today said the MJF was compelled to launch an agitation since the three major political parties had been conspiring against the establishment of a Madhes autonomous state.
Addressing a protest assembly organised in Gaur by the party's Rautahat district committee, he said their move came in the wake of the formation of the three-party High Level Political Mechanism, which was effortful to turn down the achievements of the Madhes Andolan. "It's not a mechanism but a gang of conspirators against the Madhesi people," he accused. Stating that the MJF was once again in a decisive movement for the rights of the Madhesi people, Yadav called on the people in the region to unite for the guarantee of their rights.
Yadav alleged that the major parties were stalling the constitution writing process on one pretext or another at a time when the country was transforming into a federal state. He vowed to exert pressure for adopting the new constitution on time. Alleging that the government comprised a majority of corrupt ministers, he said all the present coalition was doing was trying to have a long life. The MJF chair said his party would not face a disaster just because some 'corrupt persons' had deserted it.
Claiming that no power would be able to fragment the Madhes, Yadav warned that the Madhesi people would take action against anyone conspiring to divide the region.
