CHITWAN: The Department of Information has distributed press identity cards to 189 media persons in a two-day mobile camp organised in Bharatpur of Chitwan district.

The department of Information provided press representative ID cards to 190 editors and journalists in the camp beginning Saturday.

Similarly, nine chairmen and managers of different media houses were also provided with the ID cards, according to section officer at the department, Mitharam Humagain.

DOI Director-General Laxmi Bilas Koirala said the camp was organised with an aim to provide service at the doorsteps of journalists.

Although there are over 10,000 journalists across the country, only 4,000 have acquired ID cards, according to the department.
