POKHARA: Member of the provincial assembly of Gandaki Province and chair of the Economy and Development Committee, Deepak Koirala, has inspected a model agro farm in Polyang of Rupa Rural Municipality-3, Kaski, on Monday.

The farm is being operated with the financial support of Ministry of Land Management, Agriculture and Cooperatives of Gandaki Province on the recommendation of chair Koirala. Currently, the farm comprises pig farming alongside tomato farming. Two groups operate the farm in Polyang.

The Gandaki Province government had initiated to make 36 villages in the province environment-friendly model agro-village on March 24, 2019, informally.

However, the farmers complain that they have to face problems due to lack of technical facilities. Koirala has committed to coordinate with the provincial government to solve the existing issues.
