Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City is all set to bring into operation a well-facilitated modern bus park soon.

Mayor Dhawal Shumsher Rana of the sub-metropolis said the bus park spread over four bigha land was equipped with latest technology and was the only one of its kind in western Nepal.

Mayor Rana said the bus park would come into operation in a few days. “Construction work is over and it will come into operation in a week,” he said.

The sub-metropolis had constructed the bus park with loan from the Municipal Development Fund.

The bus park has a terminal building, a shopping complex, toilets, a cafeteria and a spacious parking lot.

Construction of the bus park was delayed by one-and-a-half years. Senior Vice-chair Shobhakhar Poudel  of Bheri Bus Entrepreneurs’ Private Limited said the bus park should be brought into operation soon.

According to Poudel, the bus park, once functional, will house more than 600 small and large vehicles, leaving for various destinations, on a daily basis.
