Butwal, June 26:

A mother committed suicide after poisoning her three children in Butwal yesterday.

The Butwal Area Police Office said Juna Sunar, 30, of Butwal-15 poisoned the children — Babin (11), Sonam (14) and Punam (15) — before consuming poison herself.

Her husband Jum Bahadur Sunar, who lost consciousness after the incident, is undergoing treatment in Lumbini zonal hospital, police said.

Neighbours said the couple used to quarrel frequently, adding that Jum Bahadur, who works in India, had returned home some time ago.
