Rukum, August 9:

Two women were swept away by flooded Muru stream in Rukum today.

Titaram Damai of Bhalapcha VDC and an unidentified person of Khara VDC sustained injuries while they were trying to rescue the women.

The women were from Rugha VDC-2 and Khara VDC-8. A police team from Simruto Police Post and locals have been searching for the missing, in-charge of Simruto Police Roshan Shah said. The two injured are undergoing treatment in Simruto Health Post.

Meanwhile, Shumsher Malla (11) and Gopal Malla (13) of Larena village of the district were injured while they were trying to save their goats and sheep from landslide yesterday. The landslide has buried three of their goats and a sheep.
