Morang declared ODF, literate

Morang was declared open defecation free and literate district, today.
At a special programme organised at Birendra Sabha Griha, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Giriraj Mani Pokhrel declared Morang district ODF and literate district. With this, 51 districts have become fully literate in the country. Lalitpur was the first district that was declared fully literate, five years ago.
Literacy Campaign District Coordination Committee Coordinator Naresh Pokhrel had read out the common pledge of the literate and ODF district.
It took four years to declare Morang a literate district.
According to Education Department and Coordination Unit Morang Chief Dirgha Dhowj Chapagain, Morang was declared literate district as 96.59 per cent population has become literate. It took seven years to declare Morang an ODF district.
