MORANG: An unidentified group of people shot a man and robbed him of Rs 500,000 cash in Biratnagar-21 of Morang district, on Monday.

According to DSP Yogendra Singh Thapa of the Morang District Police Office, the unidentified group attacked Batesh Kumar Sah (40) of Biratnagar-19 and snatched away Rs 500,000 he was carrying with him. Sah works at the local Kritesh Money Changer.

Sah was on his way home riding his motorcycle (Ko 11 Pa 2374) when the group of four on two motorcycles shot him at around 8:30 pm last night, police added.

Sah has sustained bullet injuries on his hand and thigh. He is being treated at the Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences.

Police are searching for the suspects.
