Morcha leader for referendum on monarchy

Dhankuta, October 15:

Central member of the Janamorcha Nepal, Giriraj Mani Pokhrel, today said that the fate of monarchy should be decided through a referendum.

Speaking at an interaction on the issues of constituent assembly and establishment of a democratic republic, organised by the Dhankuta chapter of the JNM here, Pokhrel said:

“Referendum is required to decide the future of monarchy.” The monarchy should be put in limbo before elections to a CA, said Pokhrel, adding that the idea of letting it have status quo would be harmful.

Durga Dahal of the CPN-UML, Dhankuta, Maoist district in-charge Mikso and vice-president of the Nepali Congress (Dhankuta) Keshar Subba also expressed their views.
