GAIGHAT: A woman and her daughter were killed in Triyuga Municipality-9 of Udayapur district yesterday night.

The deceased have been identified as Sharada Chaudhary (32) and her daughter Rachana Chaudhary (9), residing at Chaukibari of the municipality.

The police reached the site after they received information about the incident from a neighbour, today morning. According to District Police Office (DPO), Udayapur, they were killed using a sharp object.

As the murderer is at large, the police have brought in trained dogs from Sunsari to assist the investigation. Chief at Udayapur DPO, Bir Bahadur Budhamagar, informed that investigation into the case is underway.

It has been learnt that husband of the deceased is outside the country for employment.
