Mother-son duo, driver crushed to death in Dhanusha tractor fall

JANAKPURDHAM: Three persons, including a mother-son duo, lost their life after a tractor plunged into a rivulet on the roadside in Dhanusha district of south-eastern Nepal on Tuesday.

Tractor driver Shreenarayan Sada (25) of Govindapur in Dhanushadham Municipality, Najini Khatun (in her early 20s) of Golbazar in neighbouring Siraha district and her one-and-half-year-old son died on the spot, according to police.

Khatun's three-year-old daughter, however, survived in the incident.

The three were crushed to death by the tractor after it veered off the road and plunged down on the rivulet, according to Inspector Prakash Basynat at the Dhanushadham Area Police Office.

It has been learned that Khatun was taking her ill son to Dhanushadham for treatment.

The bodies have been brought to Janakpur for post-mortem, police informed.

The tractor was coming from Inarwa of Kajararmal VDC of Dhanusha.
