LUMBINI: A mother and her son died after they were struck by a lightning in Rupandehi on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Shubhawati Dhawal and her son Ramkesh of Mainhiya VDC-4.

The incident occurred while they were working at their field at around 8 pm yesterday.

Seriously injured in the incident, the duo breathed their last in course of treatment at the Bhairahawa-based Medical College, informed the District Police Office, Rupandehi.

Police said that two others were also injured in the incident.

The injured have been identified as Sonmati Bhar (65) and Pradeep Dhawal.
