BIRATNAGAR: A person was killed in a road accident at Belbari in Morang district on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Laxman Thapa Magar (82) of Belbari Municipality-10, according to the eastern Regional Police Office, Biratnagar.

The accident took place when a motorcycle (Sa 4 Pa 8221) heading towards Udayapur from Jhapa rammed Thapa Magar critically injuring him at Belbari last night, according to police.

Magar breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Biratnagar-based Neuro Hospital.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the motorcycle and arrested its rider Binod Dahal (28) of Triyuga Municipality-11 in Udayapur district for further investigation.
