KATHMANDU: A person died after being hit by a motorcycle in Mithila Municipality of Dhanusha district on Sunday.

The deceased has been identified as Ram Sundar Mahato (60) of Mithila municipality-4.

The incident occurred after the motorcycle (Ja 6 Pa 1912) heading in an eastward direction knocked Mahato, inflicting injuries in his head and cheeks at around 8:30 pm yesterday, according to the Dhalkebar-based Area Police Office. Mahato was walking down the street at the time, said police.

Mahato was rushed to the Janakpur Zonal Hospital in the district where he succumbed to injuries at around 9:00 pm yesterday.

Meanwhile, the APO has impounded the two-wheeler and arrested its rider Ananta Bahadur Thapa Magar of Mithila municipality-7 for further investigation.
