LAHAN: A person died and two others sustained injuries when a motorcycle they were riding on crashed into a parked tractor in Lahan Municipality-12, of Siraha district on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as motorcyclist Sanjit Saha (22), a local resident, and the injured as the pillion riders Dev Kumar Thakur (20) and Bal Krishna Chaudhary (19).

Thakur and Chaudhary are said to be in critical condition.

The incident occurred when the motorcycle (Ba 36 Pa 4895) rammed into the back of the tractor (Sa 1 Ta 1959), injuring three persons riding on the two-wheeler in Lahan today, according to the  Lahan-based Area Police Office. The tractor was parked on the road along the East-West Highway, informed police.

Critically injured Saha was rushed to the Lahan-based Friends Model Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries during the course of treatment.

Meanwhile, the injured duo Thakur and Chaudhary are undergoing treatment at the Biratnagar-based Neuro Cardio & Multispeciality Hospital, said police.

Investigation into the case is underway, said police.
