A 55-year-old motorcyclist died after a truck travelling in the same direction struck his motorcycle near Gumba Chowk in Hetauda on Wednesday morning.
The victim, identified as Shyam Kumar Tamang of Hetauda-9, was riding towards Ratomate when the collision occurred at around 7:30am. He was rushed to Hetauda Hospital but succumbed to his injuries about 25 minutes later, according to police.
The motorcycle and truck were heading along the same route when the accident took place. Police and traffic personnel reached the scene shortly after the crash and began an investigation.
Authorities have taken the truck and its driver, 44-year-old Nageshwar Mahato of Sarlahi, into custody as they examine the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
