POKHARA: A woman died while three others suffered injuries in a mudslide which occurred at Beni Municipality-2, Myagdi on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Kalpana Bohora of the same municipality.

Bohora and three others were digging mud nearby an irrigation canal to paint their houses when the mudslide occurred.

According to Chief District Officer Liladhar Adhikari, Bohora breathed her last while en route to Dhaulagiri Zonal Hospital in Baglung.

“We have directed the law enforcement officers to break down mud pockets at risky terrains in the district to prevent death and injuries,” CDO Adhikari added.

Likewise, Nisha Sapkota (24) Srijana Thapa (23) and Tej Kumari Ghimire (50) sustained injuries after the mudslide buried them.

Thapa and Ghimire are undergoing treatment at Dhaulagiri Zonal Hospital while Sapkota has been referred to Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara.
