Muslims send kids to school

Muslim children in Jalpapur, Ram Nagar, Bhutaha and Bhatgaun Sinuwari village development committees of Sunsari district, who used to go to Madarasas for study, have started going to local government schools for gaining formal education. They have been enrolled in Ravi Primary School at Jalpapur, Ramjanaki Primary School at Bhasiko and another primary school at Bhutaha, said Mohammad Riyaj of Bhasi-4.
Over three dozen children have been enrolled in the schools. Riyaj said that awareness has been created among the Muslims on the benefits of formal education.
Badri Chaudhary, principal of the Ramjanaki Primary School, said the students are taught formal courses besides religious books and Urdu language in the school. Meanwhile, a few Muslim parents in Jalpapur have also started sending their daughters to school.
