RAMECHAP: Over 500 persons of seven VDCs of Ramechhap and Dolakha districts have

been suffering from an unidentified disease for the past few days.

Dawa Lama, a local from Daduwa Village Development Committee said people were suffering from the mysterious disease that causes fever and common cold.

Locals of Daduwa, Doramba, Goswara and Tokpur Village Development Committees of Ramechhap district and Shailugeshwori, Katakuti and Dudhpokhari Village Development Committees of Dolakha district are suffering from the disease, according to locals.

“Patients who had gone to the local health posts were just given a citamol and sent away,” Lama said, complaining that health workers had not visited the affected areas since the mysterious disease had spread. “We were informed about the disease on Thursday evening,” Dr Yadu Chandra Ghimire, chief at Ramechhap District Public Health Office said.

He said health workers of Doramba had already been directed to visit the affected areas with medicines.

“Preparations are underway to send health workers along with medicines to the affected areas,” he added.
