NA mobilisation in polls will invite disaster: Yadav
Rajbiraj, January 31:
Mobilisation of the national army during the April 10 election to the constituent assembly would lead to disaster, coordinator of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum Upendra Yadav warned today.
He said this while speaking at a protest rally organised here today.
Yadav said only autonomy to the Madhes before the CA polls, and not army mobilisation, would help solve the problems facing the Tarai.
He also blamed the government of deferring the CA polls by coming under the influence of Maoist chairman Prachanda.
“The Maoists are hatching a conspiracy fearing heavy defeat in the constituent assembly polls in the Tarai region,” he said, adding that the government was also conspiring to weaken the Madhes agitation.
“We are preparing to launch a joint decisive Tarai agitation to thwart any conspiracy against us,” Yadav further said.
Deputy coordinator of the MJF, Jayaprakas Prasad Gupta, said the forum would join talks if they were told what demands would be fulfilled before the constituent assembly polls and what afterwards.
Meanwhile, president of the Nepal Sadbhawana Party claimed that the seven-party government would not hold the CA election.
“How can the seven-party alliance, which could not hold peaceful rallies in the Tarai, hold free and fair election to the constituent assembly?” he asked.
He also warned that the Tarai region would stop supplying food items and would hold its own CA election if the government failed to address the demands raised by the groups in the Tarai region.
