NA soldier shot at, hurt
BANKE: Two unidentified gunmen shot at and injured Jaya Bahadur Rawat, a Nepali Army soldier, in Banke district on Monday night. Rawat, a resident of Banke’s Karkando-3, was shot with pistol in front of Nepal Rastriya Primary School at around 9 pm by a gang of two assailants, when he was on his way to Sangamnagar, eyewitness said. Critically injured Rawat, who sustained a bullet injury in throat, was taken to Kathmandu for treatment, CDO Birendra Bahadur Baniya said.
Though the police were immediately informed about the incident, the latter arrived at the scene only after an hour. Rawat was transferred to the NA’s Khadgadal Battalion in Surkhet recently. The police have held Ananda Rawat, a Sangamnagar local, in suspicion of his involvement in the incident.
