Fourth and final deadline set for July 2026 after 70% progress
NAWALPUR, AUGUST 3
The deadline for the Narayangadh-Butwal road expansion project under the East-West Highway has been extended by one more year. With this the completion date has been pushed to July 23, 2026.
The national pride project has achieved only 70% progress within the previously extended timeframe.
According to the Narayangadh-Butwal Road Project office, this marks the fourth and final deadline extension, with the contractor assuring completion within the new schedule.
Blacktopping has been finished in most areas except Daunne, where road widening, RCC placement, and construction of two remaining bridges are underway, the project office added.
The revised timeline includes completing a 65-km four-lane road, central dividers, and a 17.5-km service road along the eastern stretch of the project.
