Nation revels on Chaite Dashain
KATHMANDU: Chaite Dashain regarded as the second Dashain which falls around March-April is being observed throughout the country on Sunday.
Chaite Dashain epitomises the victory of divine forces over evil. Goddess Bhagawati is worshipped during this festival with animal sacrifices offered to her.
Devotees in large numbers flock to Guheshwari, Daksinkali, Shova Bhagawati, Raktakali, Naxal Bhagawati, Kalikasthan and Maidevi temples from early morning on the auspicious day.
Dashain is the most significant festival celebrated by Hindus in Nepal twice a year. The more important one, known as Bada Dashain falls during the autumn season while Chaite Dashain is celebrated during the spring season.
