Govt staffers sans pay

KHOTANG: Due to the obstruction of the passage of the appropriation bill, government employees in Khotang district have not received their salaries for the last two months. Fund and Accounts Control Office Khotang said employees of 17 government offices were yet to receive their salaries. Nepali Army personnel of Indradhwoj Battalion and personnel of Area Police Office have not got their salaries since last month. Meanwhile, Rookmangud Aryal, assistant accountant at the office, said that letter mentioning the problem had been sent to the Financial Comptroller General’s Office in Kathmandu.

Buildings constructed

KATHMANDU: Maarten Olthof, chairman, Vajra Foundation Holland, and Ramkaji Paudel, chairman, Vajra Foundation Nepal, have inaugurated two newly constructed school buildings of Ganesh Secondary School and Chandeshwori Higher Secondary School in Sindhupalchowk. According to general secretary Tika Dhoj Bhandari, the buildings were constructed at the cost of Rs 7 million. The foundation contributed 75 per cent of the cost while the locals contributed the rest. Vice-chairman Dor Bahadur Bhandari said the foundation had constructed six school buildings in the district. The foundation and the locals have also set up a fund for the maintenance of the newly constructed facilities.
