Bomb diffused
DAMAK: Security forces on Friday diffused a bomb planted in the Himalayan Goodrick, a tea estate owned by former King Gyanendra Shah. The bomb was found planted inside the main gate of the company early in the morning. The staffers had informed the security forces after they saw the bomb. Ganesh Thada Magar, chief, Pathibhara Batallion, Armed Police Force-Mechi, said that a joint team of APF and Nepali Army diffused the bomb. King Mahendra had established the tea estate in the name of his brother Himalaya. Former Royals come to spend holiday in the tea estate.
Father, son mowed
SARLAHI: Shreechandra Mahato, 30, of Jutpani of Haripur-1 and his six- year-old son Shyam were killed when a passenger bus en route from Malangawa to Janakpur mowed them down at Jagatpur area this morning. The son was killed on the spot while Shreechandra succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to Birgunj for treatment, police said. The bus has been kept in the Area Police Office, Haripur.
