Journos assaulted

Dhulikhel: Three journalists based in Kavre were assaulted by two local youths in Chardobato, Banepa, while the former were heading for the printing press after completing the desktop works of Sanjeevani weekly on Thursday evening. Those manhandled include editor Mahesh Poudel, reporter Kapil Koirala and technician Mahesh Nepal of the weekly. Poudel identified the assailants as Mahesh Pradhan and Rabin Manandhar of Banepa-10. Nepal received an injury in the eye and Koirala was also injured in the assault.

Office ‘dumping site’

Parasi: Bazaar Management Committee of Parasi Chamber of Commerce and Industries dumped the garbage collected from the city, in front of the Ramgram Municipality office on Friday. The committee dumped the waste as a symbolic protest after the municipality refrained from collecting the garbage owing to the ongoing bandh called by the employees of the local bodies. The committee dumped the garbage saying that the city had turned ugly after the municipality did not dump the garbage. The committee said they were not against the ongoing agitation of the employees, though.
