VDC papers seized

DIPAYAL: Activists of the Unified CPN-Maoist seized various documents of the village council in Doti’s Bhumirajmandau VDC on Monday. They looted the documents saying that the council was organised without the agreement of their party, VDC secretary Sahadev Bhatta said, adding, “A group led by Maoist district in-charge Trilochan Bhatta looted the documents and threatened to capture the VDC.” Meanwhile, Nepali Congress and CPN-UML leaders in the district expressed their concern about the Maoists’ unruly activity. NC district leader Dipak Shahi said that the Maoists looted the documents

as the chief guest in the council meeting was not from their party. Maoist in-charge Bhatta, however, maintained that the issue of chief guest was secondary.

One killed in clash

MYAGDI: One person was killed in a clash between two groups participating in a sports fair organised by the Khiwang Youth Club in Sikhghar Khiwang on Sunday night. According to the police, youths of two villages clashed over a dispute in a game. Critically injured Biraju Paija of Dana-4 took his last breath while being rushed to the District Hospital. Police Inspector Sanubabu Baral said Gore Pun who had attacked Paija with a sharp weapon has been absconding. A police team has been searching for him, Baral added.
