Police post attacked

Achham: A group of villagers on Wednesday attacked Area Police Post in Binayak Bazaar. Constable Mahesh Bohara was injured in the incident. Villagers, however, did not allow an ambulance to take him to Mangalsen for treatment. Police said reinforcement under the command of Inspector Krishna Malla had been sent to the area. Some 300 villagers had attacked the police post protesting the arrest of Sarpa Rawal from Toli VDC on charges of consuming liquor.

Hotelier attacked

NEPALGUNJ: An armed group attacked hotelier Yam Bahadur Khatri, 35, in Dhambojhi of Nepalgunj-2, on Wednesday morning. Khatri, a resident of Baddichaur VDC-7 in Surkhet, owns the Samrat Hotel. Khatri is undergoing treatment at the Nepalgunj Medical College and has received 77 stitches on the head, according to doctors. Khatri said the group of four had asked money after brandishing pistols. In the ensuing clash, however, Khatri, his wife and a helper managed to nab two of the attackers.

Maoist bar on teacher

KhaNdbari: Maoist cadres have warned Madi Higher Secondary School administration not to allow assistant headmaster Biswanath Subedi to continue work. The former attacked Subedi six days ago taking him to be a Youth Force commander. The party has said it would take action against members of the school administration if they allowed Subedi to resume work.
