KATHMANDU, MAY 8
The National Security Council has reviewed the current international situation, along with the potential security challenges and implications for Nepal arising from recent developments between India and Pakistan.
Secretary at the Ministry of Defence and Member-Secretary of the Council, Rameshwor Dangal, stated that the Council convened on Wednesday to discuss the evolving situation and to formulate appropriate strategies to address potential impacts in the days ahead.
The 38th meeting of the Council was chaired by Prime Minister and Council Chairman KP Sharma Oli and attended by key members, including the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, the Minister for Home Affairs, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, the Minister for Defence, the Chief Secretary, the Chief of Army Staff, and the Defence Secretary.
The meeting took place at the Council Secretariat in Singha Durbar.
