Nationwide reach of information technology stressed
KATHMANDU: Various speakers have stressed on the need to expand the reach of information technology across the country.
They said this at a programme organised on the occasion of 24th anniversary of the Computer Association of Nepal (CAN) in the capital on Friday.
On the occasion, former Minister Ganesh Saha said that change and development in the country was possible only through the advancement of science and technology.
General Secretary of Nepal Chamber of Commerce Kamalesh Kumar Agrawal said, “The ICT Campaign has played significant role in the advancement of information and communication while emphasizing on its research and development.”
Also speaking on the occasion, Vice-chairperson of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chandra Prakash Dhakal expressed readiness of entrepreneurs to work with CAN.
Meanwhile, former Minister for Science and Technolog Ganesh Saha and Director General of Information Technology Department Birendra Kumar Mishra were felicitated in the event.
Incepted in 1992, the CAN has been organising CAN Info-tech Fair since 1995.
