Natural disasters claim 75 life in current fiscal year

BANKE: As many as 75 people lost their life to natural calamities in 15 districts of mid-western region during the current fiscal year.

It has been learned that some 75 people died and properties worth around Rs 742 million were destroyed in the incidents like flood, landslide, storm, fire and lightning.

According to the Mid-Western Regional Police Office, as many as 2,721 houses and sheds were damaged in the disasters.

Likewise, 273 livestock were killed in the incidents triggered by natural disasters.
