NAWALPARASI: A child drowned while he was swimming in a local pond of Kawasoti Municipality-7 in Nawalparasi district on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as 8-year-old Manish Mahato, son of Jit Bahadur Mahato of Kawasoti Municipality-7 in the district.

Mahato was swimming in a pond at Daruwa when the incident took place, police said.
