KATHMANDU: The Baburam Bhattarai-led Naya Shakti Party Nepal formed various committees to expedite preparations for the May 14 local level elections.

The party's Central Council meeting held for two days (Tuesday and Wednesday) in Kathmandu formed the six panels, according to a statement issued by the party today.

The committees formed and their coordinators, according to the statement, are:

1. Central Election Mobilisation Committee: Baburam Bhattarai
2. Central Speakers' Team: Devendra Paudel
3. Political Dialogues Committee: Ram Chandra Jha
4. Manifesto Draft Committee: Keshav Dahal
5. Volunteer Mobilisation Committee: Ganga Shrestha
6. Financial Management Committee: Pasang Sherpa

Likewise, the party also assigned its leaders to carry out poll campaigns in seven provinces as follows:

Meanwhile, the party also decided that candidates for wards, rural municipalities and municipalities would be selected by the concerned district committees whereas those for sub-metropolitan cities and metropolitan cities would be picked by the provincial committees.
