Kathmandu, March 19:

Representatives of the Bar Association (NBA), at a meeting with the minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Hari Bahadur Basnet, expressed dissatisfaction over the recent amendment to the National Treaty Act. The amendment has been made at a time when the country has few days to acquire the membership of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

They told the minister that acquiring the WTO membership is unconstitutional as the Constitution says that such a membership should be approved by two-thirds majority in the Lower House.
